UCAS, what is next?

Oggi vorrei aggiungere qualche informazione riguardo l'iscrizione all'università in UK.

Una volta che avete inviato la vostra iscrizione dovete aspettare che le università rispondano.
Che tipologia di risposta potete ricevere?
 Tre risposte diverse:
1) Unconditional;
2) Conditional;
3) Unsuccessful.

Unconditional: l'università vi sta offrendo un posto. Sono sicuri che vogliono voi, hanno tutto ciò che gli serve per scegliervi. Se l'università è la vostra preferita allora potete sceglierla come "firmly choise". Non potrete avere la possibilità di avere una "insurance choise" (ti spiegherò dopo).

Conditional: l'università sta offrendo un posto anche questa volta. Ma hanno bisogno di qualcosa che provi che voi siete le persone giusta per loro. Nell'offerta scriveranno tutto ciò che serve che voi gli mandate. Es: certificazione IELT/TOEFL, diploma, altre certificazioni.
Una volta che gli mandate tutto ciò che serve e loro ovviamente accettano i vostri certificati, la vostra offerta si trasformerà in Unconditional.

Unsuccessful: l'università non è interessata a voi.

Quante scelte potete fare?
Due:
1) Firmly
2) Insurance.

Potete fare la vostra scelta solo quando tutte le università avranno inviato la loro offerta.
Ma c'è un'eccezione: se avete ricevuto un'unconditional offer e volete scegliere questa perché è la vostra preferita basterà eliminare le altre università (quindi le altre "choises") e cliccare su "reply".

Firmly: potete rispondere con una firmly choise quando: avete ricevuto una Unconditional/conditional offer.

Insurance: avete la possibilità di aggiungere una insurance choise solo quando la vostra "firmly choise" è conditional. Anche in questo caso la insurance può essere sia per una conditional che unconditional offer. La cosa importante è che ricordate quello che ho scritto prima.

Quando avrete ricevuto e risposto ad una unconditional offer tutto ciò che vi resta da fare è affittare una stanza e trovare il modo di pagare le tasse universitarie! :D

Let's add some information about the university application progess.

Once you have sent the application you have to wait that the universities answer you.
What types of reply can you get?
You can receive three different answers:
1) Unconditional;
2) Conditional;
3) Unsuccessful.

Unconditional: the university is offering you a place. They are sure that they want you, they have all they need to choose you. If this university is your favorite one, then you can choose it as your firmly choice. You don't have the chance to choose an insurance (I will explain later).

Conditional: the university is offering you a place again. This time they need something to prove that you are the right person they want. In the offer they write all the things you need to send them.
Ex: IELTS/TOEFL certificate, school exams, other certifications.
Once you send them all they need and they accept your certif., your offer will change in Unconditional.

Unsuccessful: the university is not interested to you.

How many choice can you make?
Two:
1) Firmly
2) Insurance.

You can reply to your offers only when all the universities have made their own offers. If you want to choose one university that offered you an Unconditional (so you are sure you have a place and this is your favorite uni), you can withdraw the other universities and make the reply.

Firmly: you can reply with a firmly choice when: you have an Unconditional/conditional offer.

Insurance: you have the chance to add an insurance choice only when your firmly choice is conditional. The insurance choice could be for an Unconditional/conditional offer too. The most important thing is that you remember what I wrote before.

So, you can choose a firmly choice that is condional and have the insurance choice that is uncondition.
Or you can have both choices with a conditional offer.
You cannot have the insurance choice if your firmly choice is unconditional.

Once you receive and reply to an unconditional offer all you have to do next is to rent a room and find a way to pay you tuition fees! :D

News, the good one! Let's change!

Circa due mesi fa avevo scritto un post che parlava di una attesa di buone notizie.
Oggi posso dirvi che... sto per iniziare l'università all'estero!
Potrete pensare: e quindi? Dove sta la notizia?
Beh, la verità è che quando ho deciso di provarci, di mandare l'iscrizione, non ci credevo fino in fondo. Non credevo che qualcuno potesse accettarmi. Però ho provato, non si sa mai!
Il tempo è passato e qualcuno mi ha notata. Fino al giorno in cui ho preso la certificazione IELTS (con un buon punteggio) e un'università mi ha mandato un'offerta "incondizionata" (cioè avevano tutto ciò che gli serviva per scegliermi)!
Oggi voglio solo ringraziare le persone che hanno creduto in me, perché sono sicura che sto per iniziare una nuova avventura e loro staranno sempre al mio fianco.

Ma voglio anche dirvi che questo blog diventerà il mio diario, vi racconterò come e perché ho deciso di iniziare questa nuova esperienza. Proverò a scrivere quanto più potrò delle mie avventure giornaliere. Cercherò di scoprire il Regno Unito e postare molti suggerimenti. Vi racconterò delle difficoltà (ce ne saranno di sicuro ;) ) e delle facilità.

L'università inizia a settembre quindi comincerò presto! :)

Nel frattempo scriverò della preparazione, dei miei progetti e i "sogni" perché non finiscono mai.

About two months ago I wrote down a post saying I was waiting for good news.
Today I can tell you what... I'm going to study in Scotland!
You could think: and so? Where is the news?
Well, the truth is that when I first decided to try and send the application I didn't believe some university could accept me. I just tried, never know!
Time passed and someone noticed me. Till the day I got my IELTS certification (with a good score) and a university sent to me an unconditional offer.
Today I just want to thank all the people that believed in me, cause I'm sure I'm gonna start a new adventure and they will be always by my side.

But I also want you to know that this blog will become my diary, I will tell to you how and why I decided to start this new experience. I will try to write as much as possible of my everyday adventures. I will try to discover UK for you and post a lot of good tips. I will tell you the difficulties (there will be of course ;) ) and the easy things.

University will start in September so I'm going to start soon! :)

Meanwhile I will write about the preparation, the projects and "dreams" because they never finish.
